The Power Of A Whisper

A new movement, or community, has been exploding via social media in recent years, called ASMR. It stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, which is a newly coined word for a variety of pleasurable sensations experienced by the brain in response to visual, auditory, tactile, cognitive or olfactory stimuli.

ASMR artists, as they are called, use their voices, usually in a very soft whisper, along with visuals of various tactile stimuli, to offer the experience of relation, euphoria, and brain tingling that has attracted devotees on YouTube by the millions.

ASMR is credited with curing insomnia, anxiety, stress, depression, and even curing people of feelings of loneliness and isolation.

This video offer an overview and introduction to ASMR, and if you are interested in trying it, there are many videos to choose from on YouTube if you just type in "ASMR."
